Workshop Description:

The purpose of this course is to orient participants to program budgeting. Many professionals in their workplace settings, are asked to administer grants including their budgets but they have not received training on how to do this. By attending this course, participants will learn about the basic elements of a program budget and how to categorize expenses. Participants will be provided with examples of budgets and an opportunity to draft their own. Their budgets will be reviewed and discussed. This will provide learning from the instructor as well as different examples from the field. We will also review the format and what is included in a budget justification.

Workshop Objectives:

Upon completing the workshop, participants will be:

  • Able to understand the basic elements of program budgets and how to categorize expenses
  • Able to draft program budgets
  • Familiar with the formatting of budget justifications
